I thoroughly enjoy being a volunteer ski instructor for Achieve Tahoe and look forward to participating in the summer programs as well. Donations from my FB Birthday page have been transferred over. Achieve Tahoe is a nonprofit that builds health, confidence, and independence through recreational sports for children and adults with disabilities. The organization serves over 600 people a year through one-on-one snowsports lessons, waterskiing, paddle sports, and more. Achieve Tahoe's highly trained instructors and specialized, adaptive equipment allow the organization to serve just about anyone with any disability. Achieve Tahoe participants and family members often say that their experience with Achieve Tahoe goes on to affect other areas of their life such as gaining confidence to try other sports, becoming more social, and breaking down perceived barriers showing them that they can do things they never thought they could before.
"Forrest has had the opportunity to participate in a variety of Achieve Tahoe programs in Lake Tahoe: archery, horseback riding, paddle boarding, kayaking, jet skiing, tubing and snow skiing! The instructors and volunteers at Achieve Tahoe demonstrate the utmost respect, patience and understanding with their clients. Forrest always feels supported and comfortable learning from and interacting with the staff at Achieve Tahoe and he returns home feeling so proud of his accomplishments!
