This is my second year volunteering at Achieve Tahoe. I continue to be inspired by each participant’s energy, drive and fulfillment as they challenge themselves to ski and become more independent. I have had the privilege to ski with some amazing people, and have experienced firsthand, their pride, joy and sense of accomplishment during and at the end of each lesson. I have also experienced the joy and disbelief of parents as they watch their child do things that they did not think was possible. In the short time I have been with this program, I have become more and more energized and engaged. This is the first volunteer opportunity I have participated in that I really feel I am making a difference.
