Skiing is not only good for the body, but also the spirit. For me it has always been the sport that brings me the greatest joy. It is that wind in your hair freedom of carving turns on snowy slopes and feeling that sense of accomplishment after a dedicated day on the mountain. Those of us who have had the privilege of this experience know that joyous feeling and maybe, like me, you treasure those times.
This season, I have known that joy again and again through the experience of our participants at Achieve Tahoe. Daily, I am inspired by their courage in facing challenges and witness to the pure joy of their experience with our program.
Achieve Tahoe is an organization dedicated to providing adaptive skiing and other year-round sports to individuals with disabilities. Through specialized equipment, expert coaching from hundreds of volunteers, and an inclusive community, we empower athletes of varied disabilities to experience the thrill of the slopes.

Why Your Support Matters For many individuals with disabilities, traditional sports programs don’t provide the accommodations they need to participate. Our adaptive sports programs break down barriers, offering customized instruction, accessible gear, and a supportive environment where every participant can build confidence, strength, and friendships.
Your generous contributions help us:
- Provide adaptive equipment such as sit-skis, outriggers, and mono-skis
- Offer specialized training for instructors, volunteers and interns
- Subsidize participation costs for athletes in need
- Expand our reach to serve more individuals in our community

- $25 - $50 helps us provide winter wear and supplies
- $100 helps maintain and upgrade adaptive ski equipment
- $200 provides a session with 2 trained adaptive sports instructors and a lift ticket
- $600 sponsors an entire season for one athlete
