I started adaptive skiing at Achieve Tahoe when I was five years old.

Like… tiny helmet, tiny skis, big attitude.

And now it’s been twenty years.

Achieve Tahoe isn’t just somewhere I ski. It helped shape who I am. Growing up on that mountain gave me confidence, independence, and a space where I felt strong and capable — not limited. Just capable.

One of the most special parts? They let my dad volunteer so he could help me on the mountain. That meant everything. It wasn’t just a program — it became something we did together. Some of my favorite memories with him are because Achieve Tahoe made space for both of us.

The instructors and volunteers always believed in me, even on days when I didn’t fully believe in myself. They saw potential. They saw possibility.

Programs like this only exist because people choose to support them.

If you believe disabled kids deserve adventure, freedom, and community, please consider donating to Achieve Tahoe. You’re not just funding adaptive skiing. You’re helping create confidence and memories that last a lifetime.

Twenty years later, I’m still so grateful for this experience.
