Team Bryan's Story
Team Bryan originally debuted at the Ability Challenge in 2012 under the leadership of Steve Berardo. Earlier that year, Steve approached me at my restaurant and invited Bryan out to ski. Knowing I was busy both at work and at home, Steve made the invitation impossible to refuse. He made all the arrangements and even covered the cost. Yet, Steve didn't stop there! His enthusiasm prompted us to form Team Bryan, not only to celebrate Bryan getting out and skiing but to also raise money for Disabled Sports, now Achieve Tahoe. When physical issues prevented Steve from getting Bryan on the slopes, he continued to campaign on Bryan's behalf. Aware of my personal goal to get the entire Behrens family skiing together, Steve paved my way to become an instructor at Achieve Tahoe and to learn to safely tether a bi-ski. Please enjoy the videos of our first day on the slopes with me at the tethers. Better yet, please support us as we take our second independent family ski day at the upcoming Ability Challenge.
