$1,250 towards $1,200

About Me: After graduating from the University of Connecticut in May I made the decision to move across the country to be a part of Achieve Tahoe. Since then, I have found a home in the California Mountains thanks to our incredible staff and always inspiring students.

Brief History: Achieve Tahoe was formed in 1967 by a group of Vietnam Veterans who were learning to cope with their disabilities through skiing. Now, over 50 years later, Achieve Tahoe leads the way in adaptive sports and recreation. Our trained staff and volunteers guide participants in discovering life without limits. Our specialized adaptive equipment and teaching methods allow us to accommodate almost anyone with ANY disability.

My Goal is to assist Achieve Tahoe in their mission to provide everyone with the opportunity to ski. Along with providing daily lessons, I hope to raise $400 which will be used toward sponsoring lessons and expanding the equipment that is so vital to our students. Throughout my fundraising journey I will continue to share some of my students' experiences with you as a way of thanks and a way to exemplify why programs like Achieve Tahoe are so important.

Below you will find a short video of myself with one of our youngest students. At just 4 months old this handsome, young man had a stroke that took away most of his vision, strength, and speech. Now, at the age of 3, he has joined us through the recommendation of his physical therapist to continue his recovery. We spend his lessons practicing standing tall on his skis and enjoying the rush of each run. His persistent grin and giggling is all the affirmation needed to know that he is growing stronger with us and enjoying every minute of it!
