$2,325 towards $5,000

Hi,

Once again I am reaching out to raise money for Achieve Tahoe. As I started to write this post I was thinking about how amazingly awesome our experience with Achieve Tahoe has been. I cannot believe that this is our fifth season skiing with Achieve Tahoe. Holy cow, 5 years! Dylan can't be that old, I can't be that old. The best part is that after 5 years Dylan still LOVES skiing with Achieve Tahoe (he still ski's with some of the same instructors) and we are still loving our experience.

Dylan has made a major breakthrough in skiing this year. In years past he would ski only with Achieve Tahoe and we could hardly get him to ski with us. This year he had a breakthrough ski experience with one of his all time favorite instructors, Tom. Since that lesson with Tom he has been begging to ski more. He wants to ski after his lesson, he wants to ski on days when he doesn't have a lesson and he wanted to ski after school on a minimum day. He is skiing from the top of the Emigrant chair at Squaw all the way to the bottom into the village without stopping, laughing and smiling the entire way. We are all loving his new found love of skiing. Not to mention, we are so incredibly proud of him. We credit Dylan's love of skiing to Achieve Tahoe. Without Achieve I don't think there's anyway Dylan would be skiing as well as he is or enjoying it as much as he is.

Achieve Tahoe would not exist without the generous donations made by family and friends of those that participate with Achieve Tahoe. So, I am writing once again to ask you to please donate to Achieve Tahoe. The money you donate goes directly to the programs Achieve Tahoe puts on. These programs, both summer and winter make such a huge impact in so many people's lives. Achieve Tahoe is a huge part of our life and we are so grateful that we found Achieve.

Thanks in advance for your generous donation!

Best,

Kristin & Toby

Background on Achieve Tahoe

Based in North Lake Tahoe . . . . Achieve Tahoe leads the way in adaptive sports and recreation for people with disabilities. With over 50 years experience, our trained staff and volunteers guide you in discovering life without limits. Our specialized adaptive equipment and teaching methods allow us to accommodate almost ANYone with ANY disability.

Our Mission is to provide affordable inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health and confidence.

Brief History In 1967 Jim Winthers, a World War II Veteran of the 10th Mountain Division and Director of the Soda Springs Ski School, brought together a group of Vietnam Veterans to support each other as they learned to cope with their disabilities. These Veterans taught themselves and others how to ski. From there, our organization was born.

Achieve Tahoe has continued its rehabilitation orientation and remains dedicated to the belief that sports are a vital part of the process in which individuals with disabilities gain self-confidence, mobility, and greater independence. Our programs promote education, socialization and employment. They help turn tragedy into triumph by instilling in participants the knowledge that it's not their disabilities, but their abilities that count.

Family Orientation We encourage the whole family to participate in many of our programs and activities. This can strengthen family bonds while ending the isolation of individuals with disabilities by uniting families through recreational activities.
