Based in North Lake Tahoe . . . . Achieve Tahoe leads the way in adaptive sports and recreation for people with disabilities. With over 50 years experience, our trained staff and volunteers guide you in discovering life without limits. Our specialized adaptive equipment and teaching methods allow us to accommodate almost ANYone with ANY disability.
Our Mission is to provide affordable inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health and confidence.
I began snow skiing with Achieve Tahoe seven years ago. About three years ago I transitioned to snowboarding. I have also done their kayaked and gone water skiing with Achieve.
If you have ever seen the videos of my snowboarding, you can see it is almost like dancing with my instructor. My snowboarding has improved every year and by the end of the season I will be whipping down blue runs again. When I am snowboarding I feel more balanced and athletic than I ever do just walking down the street. It is great because I can go the same speed as everyone else because I don't have my walker slowing me down.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal and help me to support Achieve Tahoe. They do so much for me and all of the other people they make feel like athletes.
