Here's How it Works:

Step 1: Create your personalized fundraising page and set your fundraising goal.

Step 2: Send your fundraising page out to your network of friends, family, and colleagues through email, social media, and mail!
Share your passion for this cause along with your fundraising goal. Inspire others to donate and be a part of Achieve Tahoe's mission.

Step 3: Participate in the Ability Challenge Celebration! Raise at least $250 to participate in this fun event on March 30th that includes on-hill challenges, team costumes, big raffle prizes and more.

DETAILS

The challenge runs from January 10th - March 30th. All funds raised go to support Achieve Tahoe programs that build health, confidence, and independence in people with disabilities through adaptive sports.

Throughout the campaign we have various incentive prizes for top fundraisers!

The Ability Challenge Celebration is Saturday, March 30th at Alpine Meadows. Raise $250 or more to join in this fun day that includes: a full day lesson for Achieve Tahoe students, lift ticket for the day, catered lunch, inclusive on-hill games (costumes encouraged!), and a raffle with great prizes!

Event Schedule:

8:30 am - 11:00 am: Registration Open
10:00 am - 3:00 pm: Adaptive Ski Lessons
10:00 am - 2:30 pm: On-Hill Games and Activities Open
11:00 am - 1:00 pm: Lunch Buffet Open
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Après Party
3:00 pm: Prize Winners Announced

On-Hill Games & "Challenges"- Earn extra prize tickets for each challenge that you complete!

  • “Come in Costume” – show up to check-in wearing a costume and you could win the costume contest! The winner of the costume contest will win a $75 gift certificate for Achieve Tahoe merchandise.
  • “Photo Scavenger Hunt” – Use your camera to capture as many items from the photo scavenger list in the “Event Guide” as you can, either with your team or individually. Include at least one team member in each photo.
  • “Chairlift Bingo” – As you ride the chairlift(s) mark off the number of the chair you are riding on your custom bingo board in your Event Guide!
  • “Spell your name in Sign Language”- Learn how to spell your name in American Sign Language!
  • “Ring Toss”- Try your luck at the ring toss by tossing hula hoops onto the cones set out.
  • “Slalom Course”- Racers ready, on your mark, GO! At this station participants will be racing down the slalom course to challenge themselves! The side by side tandem slalom race course will be a chance for participants to practice their speed and turning from start to finish around training brushes.
  • “Enchanted Forest Animal Hunt”- Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY! Legend has it that during the spring the Enchanted Forest is home to dozens of cute, cuddly creatures just waiting to meet you. Participants will ski down the Enchanted Forest (trees in the middle of subway) and hunt for stuffed animals!
  • “Red Light, Green Light”- Test your skills and race your buddies! Red light, green light is a classic where anyone can try their best to listen to the leader and race to the finish!
  • “Build Your Own Snowman”- Build em big or small! Help create a snowman village opposite the Achieve Tahoe Program Center across Subway. Use provided materials or accessorize with your own flair.
  • “Synchro Ski Contest”- Ski in synchronization with a team of two or more people down Subway run. Points are awarded for executing turns, ballet maneuvers or dance moves in unison.
  • “Oreo Face Race”- Players will race to see who can eat an Oreo the fastest without using their hands!
  • “Mountain Scavenger Hunt”- Search the mountain for Achieve Tahoe Swag!
  • “Meet the Alpine Patrol Dogs”- Stop by to meet the cutest dogs in Tahoe!
